It was great to see everyone at this month’s meeting! There was a lot of quilted awesomeness at this month’s show and tell.
Update – Local Guild Membership in the Modern Quilt Guild: A committee was formed to prepare draft bylaws which will include the list of officers and their respective duties, for presentation for review and approval by the Guild. Once an initial draft has been prepared, it will be submitted online for Guild members to review and comment on. After all comments have been collected and edits made, a final version of the bylaws will be presented for Guild vote.
April Sew-In: Lynn Provencher has reserved the sewing studio at Country Crossroads on Wednesday, April 9, until 11:00 p.m. for a sew-in day for the guild. If you plan on attending, please RSVP Lynn via Facebook, as the shop will be open after hours for Guild members only. Feel free to drop in at any time and don’t forget to bring a tidbit, snacks or a dish for our late night snack attacks!
As a reminder, Lynn also has made her studio available for sewing immediately following our meetings for those who would like to stay after our meetings and work on their sewing projects. The room is available until closing (4:00 p.m.).
Alternate Sewing Location: Robin McCallister has advised that she is working on reserving the classroom at Joanne Fabrics in the St. Johns Town Center one Saturday a month as an alternate sewing day. She is working on firming up the date(s) and advises that because their schedule is currently pretty tight, we are looking at August as our first meeting date. She will keep us updated as she learns more.
Free Motion Quilting Project: Candi Lennox was available after the meeting to provide her quilting expertise to those with free motion quilting questions.
Upcoming Events: Lynn Provencher suggested scheduling a presentation and demo on our favorite bonding techniques and discuss the pros and cons of each. Please share your thoughts and ideas for any bonding techniques you would like to have presented.
