Committee Updates
2027 Guild Officers

***IMPORTANT NEWS***
The president, vice president, and secretary positions will be open for 2027 guild officers.
Please consider taking one of these positions if you’re interested in helping support the guild. The jobs take varying amounts of time commitments. See Alison (president), Bonnie (VP), or Debbie (secretary) if you want more information on what each of these jobs entails, or read the job descriptions in our bylaws.
Assuming we have volunteers, elections will be held in November. Otherwise, they will be postponed until December.
Challenges: I missed who won the wonky log cabin challenge blocks. I’m sorry. November’s challenge is to make fall leaves – any size or type.
In addition, we have the ongoing Mysterious Creative Journey challenge. See the Challenges page for more information on both.
Quilt Exchange: Victoria R. is organizing a quilt swap taking place in March. The idea is to make a small quilt for someone else in the guild. If you’re interested in participating, complete the form here and bring it to the November meeting. This looks like it will be a fun excahnge with many participants!
QuiltFest: Thanks to everyone who made QuiltFest a success. Whether you volunteered (a lot or a little), entered a quilt, or just attended the show, your support was welcomed. I didn’t have a lot of time to wander around and see the quilts, but I tried to get pictures of all the quilts our guild members made. If I missed yours and you want to include it in the slide show, email it to Debbie A. and I’ll put it in.
2027 Membership: 2027 membership renewals will be going out next month. Keep an eye out for it.
Airing of the Quilts: This was postponed to January 23 due to rain. Contact Malan McCracken at Malan.Mccracken@claycountygov.com if you are interested in participating. This event is open to all.

Sew & Tell
As usual, so many of great items shared this month!

October Program
Color Theory by Janet Griffith
This month Janet Griffith gave a presentation about color theory. She discussed concepts like hue, value, tints, tones, and shades. Having knowledge of how all these work can help create interest in your quilts and help avoid disappointing results. She showed different types of color wheels, including the 3-in-1 color tool and how to use them.
