I didn’t remember to get a count at the meeting, but we had a full house at our February meeting where we saw some beautiful quilts, learned about batting, and celebrated Alison’s birthday!

Committee Updates
Newsletter: The newsletter has a new format, with lots of links back to places on the website for more information. You can read this month’s and previous newsletters here.
2026 Jax MQG Membership : If you haven’t renewed your JAXMQG membership, you need to do so by February to remain an active member.
Committee Sign Ups: Thanks for everyone who has signed up for a committee. Emails have gone out to committee members with information. The education planning committee could use some more help. Contact Alison or Carla if you want to help find teachers for 2028.
Sit and Sews: The sit and sew committee has scheduled several times to meet this first quarter. Some during the week and some on the weekend. The recent ones have been well attended with the members enjoying camaraderie while they sew. All dates and times for scheduled sit and sews (both in-person and virtual) are on the calendar and as events in the Facebook member group.
Challenge: The next challenge is a block made of half-square triangles. See the Challenges page for more information.
Timna Tarr Class: Registration for the upcoming Mosaic Daisy class by Timna Tarr is open to members and will open to non-members starting Saturday, February 21. You can find information about the class and the sign up on the here.
Brigit Dermott Class: Registration for the upcoming in-person Playing with Shapes class by Brigit Dermott will open Saturday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m. You can find some basic information on the Workshops page. More details will be coming before registration opens.
2026 No Frills Retreat: June was the most popular month to hold the no frills retreat. The two possible weekends are June 18-21 and June 25-28. Look for a poll in the members only Facebook group as to which weekend would work better.
Financial Report: Robbie gave the financial report about 2025 expenses and the 2026 budget. You can see the presentation here.

Lots of great show and tell this month. And quite a few UFOs completed.
February Program
Victoria gave us an informative program on batting. We learned about what scrim is, different types of batting, their feel, and uses and care of each type.
