IN PERSON By Annie Bag Class January 10, 2026!
Join us for a hands-on sewing class where you’ll learn how to make one of three popular By Annie bags. Whether you’re looking for a practical organizer, a stylish everyday bag, or a roomy travel duffle, this class lets you choose the project that fits your needs and skill level.
You’ll pick one of the following patterns to complete during the course:
- Take a Stand – A sturdy, upright organizer perfect for tools, notions, cosmetics, or craft supplies.
- Back At Ya 2.1 – A modern, functional backpack designed for everyday use, with pockets and structure that make it as practical as it is stylish.
- Round Trip Duffle – A spacious duffle bag ideal for travel, retreats, or weekend adventures, featuring multiple pockets and ByAnnie’s signature structure.
Guided by our own Michele Ortiz, you’ll learn key bag-making techniques, including installing zippers, binding edges, adding hardware, and assembling professional-quality straps and pockets.
By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a beautifully finished bag (or be well on your way) and the confidence to tackle more bag patterns on your own. All skill levels are welcome, though some sewing experience is helpful. Bring your sewing machine and supplies, choose your favorite project, and enjoy a fun, creative sewing experience!

Note: You MUST have your fabric quilted and cut prior to class! This class will start with the assembly process.
Workshop Date and Time : Saturday, January 10. The workshop is from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with a lunch break. Note that the the guild will be providing lunch. The room will be open starting at 10 for set-up.
Workshop Location: The workshop will be held at the University Park Branch Library, 3435 University Blvd N, Jacksonville, FL 32277.
Registration Date and Waitlist policies:
December 6, 2025: JAXMQG member registration opens online at 10:00 a.m. Note that this class is for members only and is limited to 20 members.
WAITLIST: If the workshop fills, a waitlist will be created for members that request a spot if a paid member cancels.
