Cindy Grisdela IN PERSON Abstracting from Art workshop November 1, 2025!
Use a work or art as inspiration for an abstract quilt design. It can be a painting you admire, a photograph, a graphic design, or anything else you find inspiring. We will be using the source as inspiration only for color and shape—not representing the work itself. Through lectures, demos, and individual discussions we will study our inspirations and how to translate them into fabric. Because we start with different inspiration pieces, all the work will be different. My examples include a photograph of flowers, work inspired by the painter Paul Klee, and a graphic clothing design.

Workshop Date and Time : Saturday, November 1. The workshop is from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. with a lunch break. While restaurants are close by, to help ensure you are ready to get back to class in an hour, you are encouraged to bring your lunch, snacks, and your own drinks.
Workshop Location: This workshop is IN PERSON with Cindy Grisdela! The workshop will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Ballroom, 610 Wells Rd, Orange Park, FL 32073.
Payment Details: We are using Zeffy for payments. Click here for a document describes how to use Zeffy. Note that Zeffy earns its money through fees on purchases. You can choose to pay the fee, change the fee to an amount of your choosing, or you can zero it out. Steps 4 and 5 in the linked document show how to do this.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These fees go to Zeffy. If you accidentally pay them, Zeffy’s policy is to not issue a refund of the fees; JAXMQG has no control over them. The guild will NOT refund donations accidentally made to Zeffy.

Key Dates, Cancellation and Waitlist policies:
August 23, 2025: JAXMQG member registration opens online at 10:00 a.m.
October 1, 2025: JAXMQG nonmember registration opens online.
October 11, 2025: Cancellations made after this date will be refunded ONLY if the spot is filled.
WAITLIST: If the workshop sells out a waitlist will be created for members that request a spot if a paid member cancels.
