59 outstanding members attended the fun JAXMQG October meeting! We were happy to meet 5 new visitors at the meeting: Cathy P., Shirley A., Maureen P., Teri S., and Alice S.! President Sarah announced that the guild now has 105 guild members!!!
Guild board position openings for 2025! There are 3 board positions opened in 2025: President, Vice President, and Secretary! Elections will take place in November so if interested please contact contact nomination chair member Christina F. Sarah reported we have a member stepping up for the Secretary position! If there are specific questions please contact any member of the current board.

AIRING OF THE QUILTS! Thanks to everyone that attended the event and displayed quilts! The event was enjoyed by the community, the weather was wonderful and overall it was a huge success. Mark your calendars for next years event: OCTOBER 11, 2025!

Cummer Museum Fabric of a Nation wrap up! Cummer Museum gave JAXMQG a generous honorarium in appreciation of our quilting programs presented during Fabric of a Nation. The finished ART JAX quilt was on display at the meeting for all members to get up close and view the fun details. JAXMQG will gift the ART JAX quilt to Cummer staff on November 20 at 11:30am. All members invited to attend. Details will be posted on our facebook group and posted on the meeting communication board.
RETREAT!
- JAXMQG No Frills retreat Thursday, NOVEMBER 7th thru Sunday, NOVEMBER 10th. Registration is still OPEN for members and non members! If you can’t attend all 4 days members only can arrange a prorated fee (see Robbie Knapik, Treasurer). COMMUNITY OUTREACH:
Hurricane Helene Relief fund raiser! Member Candi L. organized a fund raiser that sold 951 tickets raising $3,245 for donation to RED CROSS Hurricane Helene relief. A video of the drawing is posted on Jacksonville Modern Quilt Guild facebook page! The lucky winner of the CASTING CALL quilt is ROBERT DURHAM!
Quilts for Asheville! Member Christina F. is collecting quilts to personally deliver to residents in Asheville area. Please contact her or Sarah for details.

CHALLENGES:
Members turned in a truckload of fun pumpkin blocks so were split between 5 winners for making table runners! Congratulations to winning members Brenda H., Leslie B., Sarah S., Tara B., and Marsha D.

Outstanding October show & tell! We had an inspiring show & tell and as always the highlight of our meetings! There were so many outstanding projects shown by our very talented members!! Thanks to Adele R. for the photos and Laura B. for organizing the show!
The first photo is the reveal of our QuiltCon Community Outreach quilt named “IT ALL FLOWS“! Member Adele R. was the design visionary and coordinated the project and many members participated in making the quilt! Huge thanks to Adele! The quilt will be on display at 2025 QuiltCon Phoenix!

OCTOBER PROGRAM: We had a fun demo day with several members demonstrating techniques : pillow case zippers, working with vinyl, flange binding, and machine quilting! Thanks to members: Adele R., Donna T., Candi L., and Rhoda N. The members enjoyed the demos and we appreciate how our members share their knowledge and skills!
