Forty-six members attended the JAXMQG May meeting! We also had 3 visitors: Melanie M., Jackie M. and Trisha G. VP Abbey facilitated the May meeting and reported we now have 93 guild members!
The highlight of the May meeting was the JAXMQG 10 year anniversary color challenge reveal! Participating guild members created outstanding fiber art projects using the color palette from a blind draw of 3 paint chips!! Many THANKS to Sarah S. and Abbey J. for hosting a fun challenge to celebrate the guild! Check out photos of our amazing paint chip projects. As an added bonus, one lucky participant won a prize – Laura B.



JAXMQG 10 year birthday party : JUNE 9, 2024! In just a few weeks the guild is having a party to celebrate 10 years of JAXMQG! Members are invited to make celebration quilt blocks and the instructions can be viewed here: JAXMQG Current Challenges web page! Those attending the party are encouraged to dress in BIRTHDAY SPRINKLE COLORS! Also if you want to play the LRC game please bring 3 party themed fat quarters – think birthday colors, polka dots, sprinkles / confetti!
QUILTFEST JAX UPDATES!
We have a fabulous Opportunity quilt! Thanks to the QuiltFest quilt committee for your hard work. More details about selling Opportunity quilt giveaway tickets will be announced soon.

At the May meeting member Sara D. started selling “Friends of QF” taglines at the meeting for members to add a personal touch to the 2024 QuiltFest program! Members can also buy the taglines at the May and June meetings.
QuiltFest Jax is now collecting red, white, and blue quilts for display in July at Jacksonville Airport. Allison M. will collect them at the June meeting.

CUMMER Museum Fabric of a Nation exhibit (July 5 – September 29) Guild volunteers provided a brief overview of the three JAXMQG programs being planned for the Cummer Museum Fabric of a Nation. RETREATS!

ACTIVE CHALLENGES!

Education Planning committee: Joan D. gave an update on the workshop poll results and plans. Look for a follow-up blog post sharing the tentative plans. As contracts get signed, details will be shared. Julia C. shared some general thoughts from 2 workshops she took and suggested we conduct a follow-up survey after each workshop.
