DEC 17 Holiday Party!! The December festive party details were reviewed at the meeting. The party theme is Fun & Fancy and our color palette is Silver & Gold with hints of Black & Gray. So think very Sparkly & Classy. The guild party team rocks! Gratitude abounds for the planning effort of all involved: Franci S., Laura B., Christina F., Abbey J., and Eve V.
Optional Party Participation Details:
CUP themed mug rug mystery swap! Keeping up with the tea cup theme from June, Eve V. has challenged members to make a Mug Rug (approx. 6″x8″) using a Cup Theme. These can be paper pieced, created using cup fabric, collage quilted, applique, etc. The sky is the limit. Eve did mention that if you plan to add 3-dimentional embellishments, they should be added along the outside edges so as not to topple a cup that may be placed on top of the mug rug. IMPORTANT: Please WRAP your mystery mug rug for the swap!
Star Quilt blocks! There are TWO different star blocks that members can make and bring to the party! Part of the blocks will be used for a block lottery that a participant can win and the rest will be put together for donation quilts. Star block #1: Wonky confetti Star is foundation paper pieced using a Black background and Silver for the star itself. Star block # 2 : The second Start block is a 12″ Sawtooth Star using Midnight Blue for the background and Gold for the star itself.
Left, Right, Center Game! To play only bring THREE Fat-Quarters in any of the following colors… Yellow, Gray, Black, or Low Volume.
The November member show and tell was phenomenal! Several members participated in the November Stripes & Lines Challenge hosted by Robbie K. Thanks to Adele R. for the fabulous photos! Enjoy the photos!!!
A very special quilt! Franci S. and Bonnie T. presented member Linda S. with a special TA TA quilt with blocks made by guild members. The quilt honors and acknowledges member Linda S. breast cancer fight and her recent wonderful news of clear test results!
