I’ve been trying to get this recap to ya, but a few things have waylaid me. Nothing like a little time away to see some quilty goodness at the Daytona Quilt Show. Hope some of our JMQG peeps got to take a break and take in some lovely quilts. A few modern ones even made an appearance.
Now back to our reqularly scheduled program!!
We had some good show and tell…
Laura showed off a sweet little dress. It’s even reversible!!
She also had some other finishes, even one started in 2006!! See it’s never too late to complete those UFO’s.
Margaret finished up a top from our stash buster table. She is gonna finish it up and donate it our Maker’s Faire items.
She also showed an organizer she is working on for keeping up with her sewing tools!
Pat showed off some tree blocks she is working. That’s gonna be a fun quilt!!
And who is that masked woman behind this quilt? My foggy brain!! I did not write it down to give proper credit. Please let me know and I will make the correction!!
And yours truly made a little name tag!! Yea, yea, I’m an overachiever but what can I say, when inspiration hits, go for it!!
Speaking of inspiration, below are the pics of the Murals of Murray Hill for our 904 Urban Challenge. Use one of them for inspiration for a quilt or other item. It can be a shape, a color combo or a theme. Bring it to the May meeting for show and tell. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!!
And see you March 18th for our next meeting. Don’t forget the change of location due to the closure of the Neptune Beach Senior Activities Center. It is temporarily closed for hurricaine repair.
We will meet at the Pablo Creek Regional Library, 13295 Beach Blvd from 1-5. We will have a short business meeting then Paula is gonna lead us through a small pineapple block tutorial. We will use the blocks we make to put together a charity quilt.
Don’t forget to bring your machine!! and your show and tell!! and your Maker’s Faire items!!
Keep on sewing!!
Robin
