Our meeting last night was a great success! We gained 4 new members, had beautiful show and tell and I felt a real sense of community with all the ladies. This is just a quick reminder about some things we have coming up in the months ahead. A more detailed post about the meeting with photos is coming soon.
We will start collecting donations for the Jacksonville Mini Maker Faire at our February meeting on 2/18/18. The Maker Faire is on April 7, 2018 from 10-5 at MOSH. We will be selling our donated items to generate revenue for the guild. We will also be recruiting new members! Some ideas for items are mug rugs, book marks, place mats, wallets, bags, quilts you’re willing to part with, fleece blankets, table runners etc….. We only have the next 2 meetings to collect items! More information on the Faire can be found at http://themosh.org/event/jacksonville-mini-maker-faire/
Also, next month we will have a Name Tag Challenge! Since we are growing in numbers, having name tags will help us all get to know each other! To make it more fun, we will vote on our favorite name tag (not your own ;)) and the winner will get a prize! So get sewing and bring those name tags to the February meeting!
Finally, a reminder to anyone interested in doing the Murder Mystery Quilt. This is a BOM with one chapter of a murder mystery sent to you each month. If you post a photo to their Facebook Album they will send you an extra clue each month to figure out whodunit. Since there a so many of us doing this already, we are getting a guild discount. The discount will be given as a refund I believe. Sign up and info can be found at https://murdermysteryquilt.com
That’s all for now! It was great to see everyone last night! Keep sewing!
