Once again, we had a fabulous meeting, thanks to our members and officers. If you missed it, you can read the minutes here.
The low volume BOM yielded some fantastic blocks and lucky Yvonne won that lottery.
In addition to the BOM, 12 gorgeous bird blocks were swapped and we continue to be inspired by the creativity of our members. Hard to even pick a favorite, don’t you think?
We had a great time swapping birds and then moved into show and tell.
Christy brought in a quilt she made for her dad with many travel theme fabrics; fantastic!
Ruth brought two gorgeous quilts; one with the reversible flags on each side.
Candi showed her almost finished Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt:
Adele showed her beautiful strip ruler quilt top, fantastic colors!
Our visitor Sandra, shared with us her quilt as you go quilt in progress, isn’t it gorgeous?
Some important dates to remember:
July 5th, Sunday: Open Sew-In at the Southeast Regional Library (Deerwood Ave), Room A from 1-5 PM.
July 11th, Saturday: QuiltCon Charity Quilt Sew-In at Ladybug Quilt Shop from 10am – 5pm. Jen will be teaching improv wonky stars and each member will be given a fabric packet to use to make a block to two for the charity quilt. Members can also bring their own personal project if they wish to sew the whole day.
Finally, our sister guild in Charleston had put out a call for help to collect signed brick blocks to make a quilt for Mother Emanuel church to express our love and support. Information can be found on their blog here. Please bring your block to one of the above sew-in meetings as Yvonne collects blocks to send them to Charleston. If you would like to send a block but cannot attend any of the sew-ins, please contact us to arrange the block handoff. Yvonne would like to have the blocks no later than the July 25th meeting to send them to Charleston before the August 1st deadline.
More information about July BOMs and program to follow. Keep quilting 🙂
