Hi All:
Our January meeting is scheduled for this Saturday, January 24th at the Jacksonville Public Library, South Mandarin Branch on San Jose Boulevard. The business meeting begins at 10:15 a.m. and we have lots to discuss. Show and tell will follow the business meeting.
We would like each of you to think about and write down two personal “Quilty or Sewing” Goals for 2015. We will be collecting the goals and plan to build the programs around what the membership is most interested in.
We also want to follow up on Valerie’s suggestion for the JAXMQG Virtual Library. So please bring a list of books, magazines, videos, etc. that you would want listed in The JAXMQG Library for other members to borrow.
Lastly, we are looking to create a trunk of charity quilts so we always have something on hand for those in need. Please bring in any misfit or unfinished blocks or unfinished quilt tops for donation and perhaps someone will turn it into a masterpiece of love.
Many of our members received The MQG email and linked up to get free fabric for the Spring Fabric Challenge sponsored by Riley Blake. Really love the prints.
The window for registering for this challenge and getting the free fabric was rather narrow and closed by the end of the first day of the post. You can still participate; just have to buy the fabric yourselves. For full challenge details, sign in to The MQG website.
We are hearing that some of our members didn’t get the email or are having trouble navigating The MQG website, so If there is interest, Yvonne will provide a walk through of The MQG website.
I’ll be posting soon about our fabulous Art Walk event on January 7th. Hope you check back in again real soon.
