Fall Retreat 2019

The fall retreat was a great success!!! We all had lots of fun! Got so much done! and the door prizes were fabulous!!! We only had a few planned activities so we were able to really put some miles on our machines. Several of us got a big jump on Christmas creations and others knocked out some dreaded UFOs. We also ate too much, laughed too much, and slept too little! We all agreed that we would have loved to stay another day — sounds like Retreat 2020 is already in the works.

Thank you Lake Swan Camp for being such attentive hosts. The facilities, food and service were wonderful. Special thanks to Paula and Kate for all the hard work you put in to make it such a success!!!

Here are a few of the many pictures we took while we played.

Lake Swan – beautiful view to wake up and/or unwind to
Mary – lucky winner of one game of Left, Right, Center
Sara helped Margaret with the quilting on the pumpkins. Getting them ready for the NICU babies later this month. — and they are sporting their quilting “tattoos”
Margaret is ecstatic with her winnings from another game of Left, Right, Center
What a beautiful quilt (and it’s a panel, y’all) that will be displayed at Cinnamon’s. Thank you, Susan. That’s a definite add to our Christmas shopping list.
Candi tackled her fear of the dreaded Y-seams and knocked this one out of the park!
She also took a few minutes to talk about “What is modern quilting”.
Susan is conferring with Margaret on her clamshells. Don’t you just love those fabrics?!?
Adele worked on 2 big projects – this is the 2nd one. I love the way this one incorporates the sashing on each block… no fears about making sure they line up right.
Stephanie finished up some holiday fun – 3 Christmas stockings and a Halloween bag. Then started on a Gator quilt (but we can’t spoil that surprise).
Sara is starting on a new quilt. We can’t wait to see it!!
Leslee, that’s going to be an adorable quilt!
Kate put her Tula Pink collection to work this weekend!
Mary Ann’s quilt is going to be a really pretty quilt to snuggle under this winter.
Mary Ann is showing off her orphaned block pillow.
Susan, Becky and Chloe are talking patterns and colors.
Valerie is working on her 2nd quilt of the weekend. Didn’t want to show a picture of the first one (Christmas gift).
Margaret is whipping up some baby bundlers for the NICU for Veterans Day.
Wasn’t kidding about getting a lot done. Margaret’s showing off the graduation gift for a retired co-worker.
Sylvia made this Christmas tree wall hanging. Don’t you love it?!?
Franci worked on this paper piecing pattern that she started in a class at Quiltcon last year.
Paula made a really great bag – love the cactus fabric!!!
Cindy, this is going to be fabulous!!!
Mary talked about her Christmas quilt while she finished the binding. Simple pattern but oh so pretty.
