We had a great time hosting a quilt block art event in the Learning Lounge at MOCA during the July 3rd Artwalk. We had lots of people of all ages stop in and create their own works of art (almost 60 blocks). Once we heat set the blocks we’ll make them into a quilt for MOCA or for another family based charity. We’re going to practice our FMQ and QAYG skills to create a great wall hanging.
Christmas in July
July is also the time for thoughts of Christmas. Seriously, where does time go?!? The quilt shops are reminding us that we need to get busy making those Christmas gifts – and have you seen all the gorgeous new Christmas fabrics out there?!? So we’re going to add a little Christmas themed fun to this month’s meeting. Bring 3 Christmas themed/color pieces of fabric – they need to be equal to a fat eighth or larger (this could also be a few 2.5″ strips pinned together). We’re going to play a couple of games after the meeting.
Fall Retreat
Fall retreat October 4-6. 3 days of sewing and socializing … no cooking or cleaning … meals are included … you know you don’t want to miss it … There are links on the programs page to pay the deposit or the whole amount.
