February 2015 Meeting Hightlights

We had a great turnout for our February meeting with 12 members and 2 visitors!  Meeting minutes can be found here.

Yvonne shared her QuiltCon workshops projects:

Aren’t the ladybugs adorable in that perfectly piped quilt?

Yvonne also shared the mug rug she made from a “rescued” embroidered block, free motion quilted and all.

Marita wowed the group with her gorgeous quilt, made from a variety of striped fabrics, the movement is amazing.

In reds and browns, the fractured blocks looked great and Yvonne was the lucky BOM winner! I really must take better photos of these.

Jen also brought the finished top for the quilt we are making for the Red Cross Silent Auction:

There is no shortage of talent in our little guild.

Please remember to check our Calendar of Events for upcoming guild events. Our next get together will be for our March meeting on March 28th at 10:00 AM. How about a fun pincushion swap? The only rule is to make a pin cushion you’d like to receive! Any pin cushion goes. Stuck for ideas? Plug  “Pincushion tutorial” in your favorite search engine and get inspired! Bring a pincushion to the March meeting and leave with a different one; fun!

A BOM tutorial is cooking and will be posted soon! And do you know what else is cooking? Retreat planning for our first anniversary! Mark  your calendar for the 4/18th weekend and stay tuned for the exciting details coming soon to a blog near you!

Keep quilting and see you soon!
