Oh it is summer time! Attendance was lower than last month and we were missing some key members but we managed to have a productive and fun meeting. You can view the June Meeting Minutes here.
Our talented members brought these quilts for show and tell.
From left to right: Janette, Valerie and Christy. And let me take this opportunity to welcome our newest paid member, Valerie, who came into the meeting a visitor and left a member.
Eight members brought their fabulous slashed June blocks to be entered into the block lottery and lucky Christy won the blocks.
The marvelous Yvonne brought some giveaways-from “cleaning her stash,” to paid members. Paid members had their pick between a fabric pack or a BOM pattern booklet.
Yvonne also bought some goodies from the MQG and is offering them for sale to benefit the JMQG. Goodies include MQG decals and patches, as well as MQG tumblers and canvas bags. Please contact us for information to purchase these items.
One last thing I’d like to highlight from the meeting. We were invited as the JMQG to give a presentation about modern quilting to the Coastal Quilters Guild on August 7th. We are asking all members who are able to bring one quilt or quilt top that we can “borrow” for the purposes of showing examples of modern quilting. If you have a modern quilt that you can lend us for a couple of weeks, please bring it to the July meeting.
Our next meeting will be held on July 26th at 10:30 AM at the South Mandarin Library Branch.
See you all next month!
